I’ve reviewed many cites on the blog, and have discussed the relative attractiveness of women in these cities as compared to others. This got me thinking about exactly how certain cities are more attractive than others (in terms of women who live there), and also how to measure this level of attractiveness. How exactly does a “hot” city differ from a more “average” or “ugly” city? How is this determined?
Hot To Most Men
The first thing we have to consider is that, as I’ve shown many times, different men like different types of women. Some guys like Asian women. Others like blondes. Others like skinny girls. Still others like more curvy women. And so on.
So for someone like me to say that X city is more attractive than Y city, I need to make sure that I’m not talking about my personal tastes, but an average of tastes over a wide variety of men.
For example, I have talked about how cities like Miami and Los Angeles are full of attractive women, and they are. Yet when I’ve made these statements, I’ve been very careful not to state this in terms of the women I like, but in terms of what most men would like.
I have very specific tastes in women that are shared by some guys but not others. There are certain cities, such as Salt Lake City, Tempe, and Oslo that are full of the type of women I personally like (Barbie blondes, preferably with big boobs). Yet there are plenty of guys who don’t like blondes, or don’t like big tits, or don’t prefer white women, or whatever.
Therefore, I can’t let this color my opinion of what a “hot” city is. I’ve noticed that other men who discuss these topics fail to do this. If they say “X city is super hot” what they’re really saying is “X city is full of the type of women I personally like.”
For example, I’ve seen one or two guys say that Tokyo is the hottest city in the world. Well, that’s true…for men who like small-breasted Asian girls. Those are guys whose ideal woman is a hot Asian girl with large eyes and small tits. If that’s what you like the best, then yeah, you’ll be in heaven if you visit Tokyo. But will most other men like Tokyo just as much?
When I talked about Tokyo, I mentioned that I sort of half-liked it, since the women are indeed super hot, but have tiny boobs, which is a huge turnoff for me. So yes, Tokyo is a pretty “hot” city, but would I consider it one of the hottest? No.
What about men who don’t like Asian women at all? They would visit Tokyo and complain that all the women are “ugly” and how much Tokyo “sucks.”
So you see the problem.
Therefore, a “hot” city must be a city where there were lots of women that most men would agree are attractive. This rules out cities that are full of hot girls of a very specific type (like Tokyo or Oslo). These “specific type” cities are great for a certain type of guys, but you can’t say they’re hot on the overall.
To determine an “overall” hot city, we need to make sure that women who are attractive in general are common. Hard to determine with great accuracy, but still possible to determine as long as you can compare it to other cities and do your best to keep your own opinions out of it.
How To Determine A Hot City
Now that we have a general criterion, how do we determine if that city has more hot women than another city?
Is there a truly scientific method to doing this? I don’t know, but I tend to doubt it. Regardless, here’s the flawed, unscientific method I use.
Method 1: The Mall Method
The Mall Method is usually the first thing I try. Where do women tend to congregate? Malls. So one method is to go to a normal mall in the city you’re visiting and make sure it’s in a normal neighborhood This means not in a fancy, upscale neighborhood and not in a shitty, run-down area (unless the entire city is somewhat upscale (Monaco) or somewhat shitty (Detroit), in which case it doesn’t matter, but those are odd exceptions to the rule).
If you walk around a normal mall in a normal area of a particular city, I’ve found you can get a pretty good idea of the overall hotness of typical women there. Is it 100% accurate? No. Though you can help the accuracy by visiting several malls in several different parts of town (if you have the time). You can also combine this with other methods.
Method 2: Downtown Method
This is when you go to a downtown core area and wait until the crowds come streaming out of the buildings, such as noon for lunch or 5pm when the workday ends. You’ll get a very good idea of how the women are.
This method is a little less accurate since one could argue that these are slightly more upscale women, and thus are more likely to be hot. One way to offset that is to use…
Method 3: Suburbs Method
This is when you visit strip malls in suburban areas (again, not upscale and not shitty, but average for the area) and observe people during eating times (noon or 6pm). You’ll see more families this way as opposed to the other methods, and is a good way to round out the other two.
If you do all three of these things, I think you’ll have a pretty good idea of how hot (or not) the women are in a particular city. Again, if you’re looking for a super-accurate, scientific way of determining this, I can’t give it to you (and nor can anyone else), but if you’re looking for a good idea, I think these methods work.
Segmented Cities
One place where these methods fall down is in cities that are highly segmented. Miami, for example, has very “hot” areas and very “ugly” areas. So is Miami hot or not? Well, if you say it’s not, that’s not quite accurate. If you say it is, you need to qualify what you’re saying.
Once again, we have to do the best we can with the limited tools available to us.
What About Colleges?
Invariably guys will recommend simply visiting a huge college campus in the target city and using that to gauge the hotness of the area. I disagree. Colleges are not an overall indicator of that city for a few reasons:
1. Colleges are full of younger women, and younger women tend to be more attractive. This artificially skews the hotness of the women upwards.
2. Colleges, particularly larger ones, are full of women who aren’t from that city. Is ASU full of hot blonde girls because Phoenix is full of hot blonde girls, or because hot blonde girls flock to ASU from all over the United States then move back home as soon as they graduate? The answer is the latter.
3. Colleges are usually not a good cross-section of income ranges.
So while college might be a good place to pick up women, I don’t consider it a place to measure overall hotness of a particular city.
Here’s a quickie graph of a few Western cities I’ve visited based on all the above factors. I don’t think it’s 100% accurate, but I think it’s reasonably close, again based on what most men would like. Consider it one giant bar chart with the hottest women at the top and the ugliest women at the bottom. I’ve segmented the chart into three sections to make it more clear.

A crucial factor to determine hotness is the time frame. You have to observe women when they don’t wear their makeup, which is usually early in the day. Also, you can take a look at the ‘ugliest’ portion of the population so that you make a general conclusion. If there are plenty of MILFs, chances are that younger women will be hot, too.

Can you explain why NY wouldn’t be in your “attractive cities”. I’ve read your article on NY and by all accounts everyone whose visited NY has claimed that the girls are highly attractive, would like your clarification on the matter?

I really wanted to do that, but the facts are that the web isn’t real life. I can’t definitively that if you see hotter chicks on your OKC search or Tinder swiping in X city, that means X city is hotter than Y city. Maybe, but it’s not definitive.
Nothing beats boots-on-the-ground, real-life observation. And if real-life observation shows you more hot chicks than normal, your online searches will generally turn up the same (I have verified this), but the opposite isn’t necessarily true.
Not possible in my opinion, because Western men like different things when it comes to Asian women (or black women or whatever). I can rank Western cities because they include all races and thus can appeal to a wide range of men.
I can give you my personal ranking of girls in Asian cities, which many men will disagree with, which would be:

I can also give you my personal ranking of Asian women in general:

and at the very bottom, Filipinos
But again, that’s just my personal preference and you’re going to get a lot of disagreement on the above lists. Amazingly, there are plenty of white guys who think Chinese and Filipino women are hot, for example.
There are also lots of jaded Western guys who think certain races of Asian women are “hot” not because they’re physically attractive, but because they’re nicer, have less ASD, and more feminine than white women. That might be true, but that doesn’t make a woman physically more attractive.
I explained that in my NY post. To summarize what I said there, NY is full of physically fit, well-dressed women who are not hot. They’re not ugly, but they’re not hot, which is why I call NY a “city of 7s.”
Whenever I go to NY (and I go a lot) I have to really walk around a bit to find a woman who is hot. All the other women I see are decent, fit, present well, and are not ugly, but not hot. (As I also said in my NY post, the vast majority of women in NY who are hot are not American; i.e. they’re other races or they’re white but speak with foreign accents or languages.) Compare this to LA (as just one example), where there are literally hot women walking around all over the place.
My guess, and this is only a guess, is that when men say NY women are “hot” is because A) they’re talking about night game, which is not an indicator of a city’s hotness (for the reasons I outlined in the above article) or B) they’re getting caught up the NY’s majesty and glamour and letting this skew their perception of women hotness there upwards. There’s a stereotype of New Yorkers that they tend to think New York is the center of the universe and the most awesome city on Earth, and I have to admit there’s some truth to that stereotype.
BD, can you elaborate on the metrics you used, if you haven’t elaborated on it before. Is there a city where women are less prone to drama compared to another city? More open to M/OLTRs city by city? example dating a mellow and cool NY-7 compared to a drama filled San Diego Bombshell. Is this a no brainer?

I live in a very segmented city. Im curious how anyone would manage to rate the women here. Any of the big shopping areas are primarily populated by people with money. Id say youd find a lot more attractive women wherever they have more money though. It takes money to keep up your appearance plus attractive women tend to marry men who make more money.
Pretty solid list for American/Australian cities in terms of what most men would be attracted to.
Based on what I’ve seen on tinder and what I’ve achieved for clients in those cities, I’d say that list lines up pretty well with the quality of girl online as well. Although there is a degree of the hotness of girls in some cities not entirely translating to online.

It’s true what BD said that there’s no real way to measure this, however a good indicator is the M/F ratio in a city, with cities with more 18-30 females than men being better for men obviously. The general level of competition from those men is also a good indicator. But there would be alot of other factors to consider, like the general culture of the city etc.
A good way to get a feel of how a city is going to be like compared to others is set up the exact same online dating profile in various cities and see how well they perform. There’s a strong correlation between how easy it is to get new women online to meet you and how they will treat you in any relationship, both sides tend to feel how tough a dating market is for them respectively and how easy they can get a new partner that is as good or better and will act accordingly in any relationship.

You’ve got to have some basic game (aka normal social skills) and be reasonably attractive though. When I was in Chicago, I thought there were a lot of very pretty women, but then maybe that’s just compared to here. I would agree on Los Angeles, or anywhere in Southern California. There are a lot of very attractive PEOPLE and a lot of competition to look good.
What’s crazy to me, is that when I have been there, guys would actually hit on me. I was amazed anyone would even notice me in a place with so many super beautiful women. I figured maybe it was because I stood out, by looking different from what they are used to. People get tired of looking at the same “type” all the time.
I’m kind of surprised that San Fransisco and Washington DC made the “average” list. I would have thought below average, but its been awhile since I’ve been to either of those places. From my brief time in NYC, the clubs and bars there seemed to be packed with super hot women. It’s hard to say if most of them are ALSO tourists at many of these places. Me neither! I generally don’t find pure American black women hot (most of them have “rough” faces and blunt bodies). Those who are hot and beautiful are not “that black” and could be labelled mixed. They have more of a brown toned skin and lighter features (Halle Berry comes to mind).

1) kiev (most 9s you can see them everyday) apparently Odessa is even better and has a beach will update this in aug to confirm.

I completely agree with you on Atlanta as someone who had the misfortune of living there for five years, if you’re not into black women then it is slim pickings in that city. As someone who loves white girls (especially the kind you like BD), it was a major let down. Most of the times, you had to operate through tight knit social circle game as a ton of these girls were almost always with their judgmental church groups, suburban cliques, and Greek Life affiliates even well after college.
The best way to describe my experience in Atlanta is that it was a big city but it felt culturally like a small town. One major thing that bothered me about Atlanta was just how rude, arrogant, and untrustworthy the people there were. I ran into many AMOGs and felt like a lot of people there had this chip on their shoulder type of mentality to where they had to prove something. TBH, I found the people in Buckhead far more shallow and image conscious than the people anywhere in Los Angeles, all this despite not being nearly as attractive as their LA counterparts.
What frustrates me is how much that city gets promoted these days, especially because of Walking Dead being filmed and so many production companies moving there. I’ve met a lot of guys that decided to give the city a try, lived there for a few months, and realized what a mistake they made.
My experience in Atlanta made me wonder if there is some sort of a slight correlation between the amount of attractive women in a city and how the social atmosphere there is like. When I lived in Atlanta, it was a far cry from the southern hospitality you would expect from a southern city. The guys were hostile, sketchy, and I ran into far more AMOGs than the usual in my time there (in extreme cases guys that tried to ruin my life because I managed to get more attention from a girl than they did).
On the other hand, I had a very pleasant experience in Miami, San Diego, and Nashville.
Maybe lack of attractive women usually means that when there are attractive women, guys get thirsty and hostile because they lack the abundance mentality? Perhaps seeing a pretty face makes a guy less hostile towards others?
One other thing BD, for guys that are not white but love the hot blonde barbie girl types, are there any US cities which you would say are good?
I mean I’ve met a lot of hot blondes from Utah but my friends from there say it is very taboo for a swarthy guy to go after them as lots of people in Utah know that “darker” guys love going after blonde women, so the blondes there tend to not be as open to going interracial.

I am french 173cm/5’8″ 60kg, I lived in Vancouver BC and Los Angeles. There are indeed some good looking asian girls in Vancouver BC, women in LA are better in average for me. BUT, for me both those cities really sucked in term of quality if women. So many overweight fat women. So many tall women. And for Vancouver also too many pale skinned women, I cannot stand their smell. Plus I am probably too small there it makes things much more difficult the competition in Vancouver is packed with tall and jacked dudes.
So if those cities are amongst the best in north America, it’s really bad. Quite a nightmare to live there for me, not only about women but the lifestyle is extremely bad, deep productivist+consummerist wasteful society, horrible public transport, distance and logistics can get extremely complicated fast. It confirms my choice to never step foot in this continent anymore.

Crap. I live in the Bay Area (and not even SF city, which I think is pretty easy). I like it here, have a career very well suited to here, and would hate to have to leave. But if it is a difficult city relative to others……

I cannot totally agree with the beauty chart here.. I live in Seattle and have traveled to Vancouver several times. To be honest, the women in Vancouver are either equally good looking to Seattle or even a bit inferior. The only reason you may consider Vancouver a town full of beautiful women is because of the downtown area with Robson St that has a lot of very nicely dressed and made up women. In addition, there are a lot of wealthy tourists from all over the world who travel to downtown Vancouver. However, I have spent time with my friend in Surrey/Delta and have hung out in the less touristy and less prestigious neighborhoods of Vancouver, as well as the suburbs of Vancouver. I can tell you there is absolutely no difference in the beauty of women in Vancouver from Seattle. In fact, I was amused at how obsessed some guys in Vancouver were over “girls in Seattle”. They kept saying how friendly and beautiful they were, which is strange since girls in Seattle are not excessively friendly. In fact the Northwest has probably some of the most anti-social and unfriendly women (and men) in the country. This makes approaching and day game a bit challenging in the Northwest, since people are not use to interaction of any form in a public place or with strangers.
However, contrary to what many Vancouverites think about Seattle women, I have to say I found Canadian people to be a bit friendlier, cheerier and more social than people in Seattle. The women in Robson St and the downtown meat market do seem a bit conceited and on guard, but that is the nature (I suppose) of a night game environment with lots of bars, night clubs and affluent atmosphere.
Many people though do not realize that outside of the downtown meat market the city of Vancouver resembles Portland and Seattle quite a bit. It does have a tiny bit more of a European flavor, but seems to be like a friendlier and more easy going version of the Pacific Northwest of USA. Another thing about Vancouver is people love to drink and I mean drink heavily. What people drink on a weekend binge in Seattle or Bellingham they will drink for breakfast or lunch in Vancouver. I thought Washington and Oregon had a drinking problem. Not even close. Even most of the women could drink me under the table there and my Russian genes don’t make me a lightweight.
Most women in Vancouver are actually very similar in appearance to the more native Seattle areas, such as Ballard, Wedgewood, Tacoma or Everett. You have a mix of some magnificent Scandinavian beauties with some grimey and grungy f’ugly chubby, overly tatted and poorly dressed hipster grunge women that make your eyes hurt.
